At MSCR, we think that a thriving downtown is essential to a vibrant community. MSCR is a resource for us all to come together for the betterment of downtown, the heartbeat of our community. We will bring together local talent and resources to support and strengthen businesses.
Our goal is to make downtown the living room of the community by hosting events like our Memorial Day Block Party and Christmas in a Small Town. We are also undergoing beautification projects like landscaping the Main Street Boulevard. While doing all of this we want to create a connection between downtown and our terrific outdoor recreation opportunities.

Coon Rapids had the honor of being designated as a Main Street Community by the Main Street Iowa Program in August 2019. The mission of the Main Street Iowa Program is to improve the social and economic well-being of Iowa's communities by assisting selected communities to capitalize on the unique identity, assets and character of their historic commercial district.
Main Street Four Point Approach is a trademarked program of the National Main Street Center, Inc. It offers a comprehensive and integrated strategy to community revitalization using four key advisory councils.
Main Street Coon Rapids is an accredited Main Street Iowa and Main Street America member.
