Coon Rapids is governed by a mayor and five city council members. It is their mission to create a vibrant future for
the Coon Rapids community, including its residents, business owners, employees, visitors, and young people.

Their priorities are to

1. Engage residents and visitors to experience Coon Rapids by shopping local for products and services;
   experiencing local attractions; volunteering and leading community organizations/events; and taking pride in the
   Coon Rapids community.
2. Beautify the Coon Rapids community to be inviting for residents, visitors, and prospective residents and
   businesses.
3. Create a thriving business environment in the Coon Rapids community.
4. Update and invest in the community’s infrastructure, especially downtown, primary travel corridors, and outdated
   housing divisions.
