Thanks to the sponsorship of Main Street Coon Rapids, the Culpepper & Merriweather Circus is coming to Coon Rapids on Tuesday, August 30, to the Beck's Hybrids Town Parking Lot located on Railway St. between 5th & 6th Ave. with shows at 5:00 & 7:30 PM.
C&M Circus has been providing quality, local family entertainment for 37 years. This authentic One-Ring, Big Top Circus has been featured on the A&E Special: Under the Big Top, Nick News: On the Road with Circus Kids and most recently OETA's Big Top Town. This year, they're very excited to bring you their brand new 2022 performance featuring Big Cats presented by Trey Key, their Aerialists Extraordinaire Simone and Kelly, 10th generation Loyal Bareback Horse Riders, the Perez Daredevil Duo on the Tight Rope and Wheel of Destiny, everyone's favorite Circus Clown Leo Acton and Brandon Ayala on the Rola Bola.
On Circus Day, there will be a Tent Raising and Tour at 9:30am. Everyone is invited to watch the Big Top rise! You'll also get a chance to tour the grounds, learn all about life on the road, see the beautiful animals and learn about their care and get an behind-the-scenes look at our show! The Midway opens at 4:00pm and includes pony rides, moon bounce, giant slide, face painting, concession stand and box office.
Circus performances will take place at 5:00 and 7:30 pm. Get ready for an amazing show the whole family will love! Each show lasts about 90 minutes.
Advance tickets can be purchased at the Coon Rapids Municipal Utilities (123 3rd Ave.) and the Main Street Coon Rapids office (406 Main Street). Advance adult ticket costs $12 and child (2-12) or senior (65+) ticket is $7.
A higher percentage of advance tickets goes back to the sponsor, meaning more money back into your community. You'll also save money and can skip the lines at the box office. Box Office Prices the day of the event go up to adult $15 and child/senior $8. Box office tickets go on sale at the Circus grounds starting one hour before each show.
Ten children can win free tickets to this year’s show. A peanut jar is set up in the Coon Rapids Public Library. The ten children who guess the right number of peanuts in the jar or get the closest to the right answer will get free tickets to the show. The winners will be notified August 18. While you’re at the library, pickup a circus coloring sheet. Have your children color the page and then bring it to the circus on August 30 to win prizes from C&M.
