Start your engines up in May for the return of Scoop the Loop nights in Coon Rapids. Enjoy a Coon Rapids tradition by cursing around Main Street in your favorite car, truck, UTV or school bus, whatever makes you happy.

Main Street Coon Rapids organizers have scheduled four Scoop the Loop nights starting at 7:30 p.m. Each night has its own theme: May 7 -- Movie Classics; May 12 -- CR-B Graduate Parade; May 21 -- UTV & Golf Carts; and May 28 -- Patriotic Support.

In honor of graduation weekend, MSCR is hosting a graduation parade on Wednesday, May 12. For the first half hour (7:30-8:00 p.m.) park in the side angle parking with your flashers on and hang congratulatory posters on your vehicles. CR-B graduates, this will be your chance to parade around Main Street in the backs of pickups, in convertibles or in golf carts so we can see your smiling faces. Please note, that the graduation parade is on a Wednesday instead of a Friday to accommodate graduate parties and athletic events.

Don’t forget this is a good time to support our local businesses. Eat supper at a local eatery before the drive and shop at local retailers all month long. For questions, contact the MSCR office at 712-999-grow or [email protected] Check the calendar of events at www.coonrapidsiowa.com > calendar of events for more details and all community events.
